Fatih Sultan Mehmed (Gold Plated)
FATIH SULTAN MEHMED: Turkish Emperor II. Mehmed was born on March 30, 1432 and died on May 3, 1481. He is the seventh sultan of the Ottoman Empire. In historical sources, his name is mentioned as Muhammad. He reigned first for a short period from 1444-46, then for 30 years from 1451 until his death in 1481. II. Mehmed conquered Istanbul at the age of 21, ending the 1000-year-old Byzantine Empire, and this event is considered by many historians as the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the New Age. After the conquest, "Ebû'l-Feth", which means the Father of Conquest, was referred to in Ottoman Turkish, and in later periods, with the titles of "The Ruler of Ages" and "Kayser-i Rûm". Fatih was named after a hadith of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. Today, he is accepted as a "hero" in Turkey and a large part of the Islamic world.
