Rumelian Cavalry (Crazy/Evidence)
In the Ottomans, the ulufe (paid) cavalrymen of the Kapıkulu quarries were called cavalry (kapikulu cavalry), but the soldiers that formed the main cavalry class were the timar cavalry, also known as the provincial cavalry or the grounded cavalry . "Deli" was the name given incorrectly by the people to a class of cavalrymen first formed in Rumelia. Although their original name is "Delil" meaning guiding guide, the name "Deli" reminds them of fearless, risky, madness. It was also because they were people of courage.
"It was widely told among the people that the Delis, who participated in the war in the front line with their lion's skin and wings on their horses, fearlessly jumped on the enemy by burning their wings."
• The collection created by enriching the relief work with engraving is a first. The works, which are prepared as bronze coating on synthetic polymer, will be produced in a limited number of 600 pieces of each model. The works, whose design registration has been obtained and will be presented with a certificate, refer to the glorious process of the Ottoman Empire, which reigned for 600 years.
RUMELIAN CAVALRYMEN (COURAGEOUS/INDICATOR)
Whilst the service paid mounted soldiers of Household Troops of Ottomans were called cavalrymen (Household Cavalrymen); the soldiers constituting the real cavalrymen class were the timar holders who were also known as state cavalrymen or landownercavalrymen. "Deli/Courageous" was the name inaccurately given by the public to a class of cavalrymen soldiers created firstly in Rumelia. Even though their real name was "Delil/Indicator” meaning the guide, advisor; they were called by the public as "Deli/Courageous" as they were fearless; they courted dangers and their courage was in the limits of craziness.
